Amy E. Williams, Commissioning Editor at You Magazine, tells us about her summer escapes and holiday style.

Where are you heading this summer?

In May I took a fortnight long trip to Vancouver and LA so this summer is about long weekend getaways and making the most of London in the sun. I’m off to Majorca next week and then Scotland for the Ryder Cup at the end of September, but I need to find somewhere to escape to for August bank holiday – staying in Notting Hill over carnival is not an option!

Can you recommend a fab hotel anywhere in the world?

I love small, romantic hotels with interesting stories and great views…Monastero Santa Rosa ( is a restored monastery on the top of a cliff near Amalfi, Italy. It has a beautiful spa and the most breath-taking pool on the coast. In London my favourite hotel is The Berkeley (home to another pool with a view) – I would happily move in.

What’s on your packing list for this summer?

For Majorca I’m packing pretty sundresses from Suno, kaftans by Beach Candy, Heidi Klein bikinis, Ancient Greek Sandals, J Crew boat shoes and Victoria Beckham sunnies. My washbag will be packed full of Ultrasun factor 3million and Sachajuan haircare – the absolute best for anyone with curly hair. I’ll also pack Donna Tartt’s The Goldfinch which I’ve been meaning to read all year…
